Bowls Wiltshire Ladies 4s Competition.

The club hosted the last 8 of the BWL 4s competition. Clubs represented were Amesbury, Box, Chippenham Town, Highworth, Purton and Supermarine.

Amesbury Ladies, Dawn Ford, Jenny Homer, Ruth Canham & Ali Noyes played a team from Chippenham Town BC in the quarter final, winning a close game 22-19 and proceeding to the semi final.

In the semi final they played a team from Box BC, this was a repeat of last season’s County final, when the team from Box BC won on an extra end. The semi final saw a different outcome with the Amesbury Ladies winning 18-13.

The ladies now go on to the County Finals where they will play a team from Highworth and both finalists will represent Wiltshire at the National Finals in August

BOWLS BIG SUMMER – OPEN DAY

The club opened its green to the Community to come along and try the game of bowls. The event was well attended with an age range of 6 – 91. There was fun and  laughter on the green, followed by lots of chatting whilst enjoying refreshments. We look forward to welcoming back those who have signed up for follow up sessions with our Coaching team.

CPR and Defibrillator Refresher Training

Members attanded refresher training, delivered by Danielle Bagg a Consultant from Salisbury District Hospital. The knowledge and skills learnt if needed could help to save a life.

Club Mixed 4s Competition

The weekend saw the first competition of the season take place. 7 teams entered with the 1st round being played on Saturday, with the semi finals and final being played on Sunday.

Well Done to all the players, with some excellent bowling and close matches taking place.

Winners – S Loader, P Godliman, L Hancock, S Mitchell

Runners Up – W Dales, D Nation, Jenny Homer, M Brant.

Thanks to the organisers and the members who provided and served refreshments and to the spectators who came along and supported.

Club Members – Level 1 Coaching Course

Congratulations to Andy Derry, Janice Rowe and Nick Tincknell who have passed the Level 1 Coaching Course.

This now gives the club 4 qualified coaches, who are able to support and develop the game of new and existing members.

Green Open on 11th April

Depending on the weather, it is planned to open the Green on Saturday 11th April for the annual Captains v Presidents match starting at 13:30.

If you would like to play in this match, please be at the Club for 13:00.
